Overview

The Level 6 NVQ Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety Practice qualification is aimed at candidates who are responsible for developing and applying health and safety procedures day-to-day in their organisation. They may be a member of the H&S team, supervisors or managers looking to improve their knowledge and skills. 

The awarding body for this qualification is City & Guilds and the regulatory body is the Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (Ofqual). This qualification has been accredited to the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF).  

Who can take this qualification?

This NVQ programme is completed using actual work that you would be creating and implementing during your day-to-day role, alongside knowledge & understanding sections and projects. It is a requirement that you are employed in a role of responsibility for health and safety management.

How long will it take to complete this qualification?

The average completion time of this qualification is 6-12 months and the total qualification time is 1064 hours.

How will I complete this qualification?

Once you are enrolled, you will be allocated an experienced assessor who will guide you through the qualification requirements. 

The different types of work and activities that you will undertake to complete the qualification include, 

Submitting work documentation such as Policies, Procedures, Risk Assessments, Accident Investigations, emails showing your involvement with H&S in the workplace, 

Knowledge & Understanding 

Observations by your assessor 

Witness Testimonies from colleagues/managers.

There are no EXAMS to complete to achieve this qualification.
